How Can I Accessorize?

Outfit elevation is a hard skill to master, but accessories make it easy! These four additions will make sure you look the best wherever you go.

Necklaces.

For everyday life, a minimalist chain can never hurt.

If you are going for a more professional look, simply tuck the jewelry under your collar and undo a few buttons, so it peeks out. For this, not having a pendant is optimal to keep the accessory a bit more understated.

Now, if you’re the flashy type, this may be more appropriate.

Necklaces can be controversial, so if your job (or you) doesn’t appreciate the subtle addition, these next three pieces should still work well.

Watches.

A classic, timeless (well, not really) piece that keeps you looking professional and classy.

There are a wide variety of options whether they are metallic, all black, or full color. If you want to stand out as a speaker or leader of your team, full metal is the way to go.

For the clean look, a black or brown band with a metal clock feature is what’s best.

For the risk-takers, an all color watch might be what you are looking for, but it’s important to make sure it matches your clothing.

Cufflinks.

These are best for formal meetings, upscale dinners, and weddings. Not necessarily for everyday, but an excellent supplement to your outfit.

Cufflinks signal that you are refined and pay great attention to detail. On top of that, your sleeves will always stay in perfect position.

Belts.

Last but not least are belts. Another classic. Many go for the thin, black leather band, but a belt can do more for your outfit than simply hold your pants up.

Different belt styles show personality and add depth to the various outfit combos you may have. A black bet still works, but try to find one with interesting hardware to add more to your look.

What is extremely important to remember, is to match your metals. The hardware in the belt and watch should match the color of the necklace and/or cufflinks. Look through your closet, assess what you typically lean towards (gold or silver), and go from there.
