What Are You Running With?

What’s your workout routine looking like these days? Is it running, walking, or lifting?

During your workout, you probably track your miles, your pace, your heart rate… but have you ever stopped to think about how you look while doing it?

Because the way you show up to your run is the same way you show up everywhere else.

Something I realize more as I get older is that you’re either put together, or you’re not.

And what gives it away the most is how you present yourself fashionably.

Not saying you have to be fly everywhere you go, but what essentially matters here is your intention for the day.

This counts even when you’re productive!

Think about it, have you ever realized how much better you’d feel, and look, with just a few small upgrades to your runner's drip?

See it as simple first.

Shorts that are too long, shirts that are stretched out, random old tees… it all looks lazy or unfashionable, even if your workout isn’t.

Looking put together does two things:

  • it sharpens your mindset
  • it builds consistency

You’re more likely to show up again when you feel good showing up the first time.

You don’t need a whole new wardrobe either; you just need better choices.

First, consider clothes that actually fit.

Not baggy or below the knee; a clean, above-the-knee running short paired with a comfortable tee instantly makes you look more put together. It’s the fastest fix.

Next, a solid color scheme.

Neutrals always look the best, but with the right color pairings, you can find a theme that suits your personality the best.

Then, find a pair of sneakers that support your soles and your aesthetic at the same time.

If your shoes are worn out or don’t match the rest of your look, it throws everything off.

A clean, well-chosen pair does more than people realize.

If you’re looking for good options, stay true to what you already know fits you well, that’s always your starting point.

From there, figure out what brands that actually fit your lifestyle, not just your workout.

Nike keeps it classic and reliable, Lululemon has simple and clean designs, Vuori is great if you want something softer and more relaxed, and On Running are great shoe options that look as good as they perform.

The key with buying activewear is that you only need a few solid items that you know you’ll wear endlessly.

Trends are less important than direction, but if you want to know what's popular right now, it’s cleaner shorts, minimal branding, and neutral color palettes.

If you’re already putting in the work physically, your outfit should match that energy.

At the end of the day, this is part of your routine and part of how you show up for yourself.

Fitness is never just about clothes, and it shouldn't be about fashion either.

It’s about the standard you hold yourself to, even in the small, everyday moments.

And the truth is, when you start showing up better in one area, it carries into everything else without you even thinking about it.
